ABOUT US The Broken Bow church of Christ is located at 400 W. Airport Rd. in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. We are just three blocks west of the Hwy. 259 and Airport Rd junction. We are a congregation of approximately 130 people with a good mix of age groups. We have several families who are retired, several in the middle-age range with children who are in high school and several families with younger children. We are fortunate to have the type of family mix that leads to continued growth and development for the congregation. In addition, we are now in a brand new facility. We completed our new building and moved in during the month of July, 2008. Here, in our new location, we have plenty of parking and class rooms. And, instead of being on a busy, noisy main highway, we are in a quiet, wonderful neighborhood just a block from a grade school and a nursing home. We are really enjoying our new facility and beginning to plan new programs to go along with it. We believe in the truth of God’s word. We believe the Bible is, indeed, the plenary verbal inspired word of God. We believe we must have Biblical authority for all we teach and practice as God’s people. We believe the silence of the scriptures is prohibitive and we practice that which is authorized by command, example or implied inference in the scriptures. We believe the church is to be lead by elders when there are qualified men in the congregation to serve in this capacity. At this time we are without elders and deacons but have men that are growing in their Biblical knowledge and experience. Hopefully, one day we will be able to re-establish our eldership. Our men are doing an excellent job of directing the work of the church and we are involved in several areas. We support the “In Search Of The Lord’s Way" television program. We are also continuing to support our young people by helping with the Bible Chair and Campus Ministries at Southeastern University in Durant, Oklahoma and East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. We also try to get our youth group involved in different areas of the work. We take them to attend area-wide youth activities as well as having special activities for them here. For the past few years we have had a special "Young Men's Retreat" with special speakers for all the teenage young men in this area. In addition to these, we are constantly looking for new and better ways to reach out to the Broken Bow community as well as the McCurtain County area. Needless to say, we are very excited about the future of the Broken Bow church of Christ. We would love for you to come and be a part of it. |
